About Us

The Lone Star Cowboy Poetry Gathering exists so that narratives of the cowboy way told in poetry, song, and stories, by those who have lived that life, can be heard. In 2026, we are expanding for the first time outside of our original home in Alpine, TX, bringing 22 musicians and 12 poets/storytellers to Bastrop Feb. 18-21. We hope to introduce a new audience to cowboy poetry and music, art forms developed out of grazing cultures worldwide.
