Christmas in October
One Day 4-H will be held on October 12, 2013. On this day 4-Hmembers step out into their communities and say “thank you” by performing acommunity service for someone in need. For the past 3 years Jamie Parker,a Smithville high school senior, has chosen as her community service project “Christmas in October”. This year Jamie will set up at Brookshire Brothers Grocery Store in Smithville and collect canned food items, non-perishable food items and cash donations to be donated to the Bastrop County Mental Retardation Association (BCMRA). She will be there form 8:30 a.m. until4:30 p.m. The food and money will be used by BCMRA to help provide Christmas gift and food baskets to Bastrop County individuals and families who arementally challenged. If you would like to support Jamie’s project stop by Brookshire Brothers Grocery store on Oct. 12 and help make a difference.
