ASSISTANT EVENTS AND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR – PART-TIME
SMITHVILLE, TEXAS
Scope of the Job:
This position reports to the Director of Events and Development and is based at the office headquarters in Smithville, TX. The part-time Assistant Events and Development Coordinator will provide administrative support for the events team and assist with KOZ donor development initiatives. This includes supporting event logistics, planning, and execution, as well as helping cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors. The position requires coordination between staff, volunteers, venues, and donors. The incumbent will work closely with the Director of Events and Development to carry out detailed event and donor engagement plans that support the overall success of Kids Outdoor Zone (KOZ). You must have a fierce commitment to quality, attention to detail, excellent people skills, and a team-player attitude. The Assistant Events and Donor Development Coordinator typically works 16-18 hours per week, but additional hours may be required during event execution and donor engagement periods.
Specific Tasks of Job include but are not limited to:
- Providing administrative support for annual events such as Galas, donor meetings, lunches, fundraising dinners, and multi-day conferences.
- Working closely with the Event Team to coordinate budgetary, marketing, and logistical requirements for events and development.
- Working closely with the Events Team to create event exposure content (i.e., Facebook, social media advertising, etc.), electronic invitations, manage RSVP’s, produce pre- and post-event emails to attendees, and key entry of attendee information into the customer relationship management (CRM) database.
- Assist in other events and development activities as needed and assigned.
The successful candidate will:
- Possess a high interest in creating or further developing an events and development career and learning key skills from event professionals.
- Strong sense of customer service.
- Great attention to detail.
- Previous experience in supporting or coordinating events and development (school, church, or non-profit) is helpful.
- High energy level and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Good organization skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent command of the English language and writing/editing ability.
- Experience using Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required.
- Experience in CRM databases (especially Every Action) is helpful.
- Self-starter mentality and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines and must be able to multi-task and re-arrange priorities when necessary.
- Mission-driven professional with a strong desire and willingness to learn and embrace the KOZ mission and objectives.
