SUMMARY:Bastrop County Historical Society's Day of Giving
DESCRIPTION:The Bastrop County Historical Society is proud to host its second annual Day of Giving this August. The event is held in August to commemorate Stephen F. Austin's journey through the area\, during which he famously wrote that this would be an ideal place for settlement. Participants can go behind the scenes and sample different aspects of what goes into the mission of the Bastrop County Historical Society "to preserve and promote Bastrop County history." Enjoy exclusive looks into the Collections\, a tour of the Research Library and sneak peeks of upcoming exhibits and events.\n\nDay of Giving is a one-day fundraising campaign designed to raise awareness and generate critical support for the museum's mission of preserving and sharing Bastrop County history. Funds raised through this campaign support the museum's general operating fund\, helping sustain educational programming\, special exhibits\, and community events. Contributions also make possible new and innovative exhibits\, such as the current SPARK YOUR IMAGINATION! exhibit and the upcoming Indigenous Peoples exhibit opening this fall.\n\nThe museum's goal is to raise $20\,000 during this year's Day of Giving. Donations may be made in person at the museum\, online during the week leading up to the event\, or on the day itself through the museum's website.
